Another Wave of Winter Weather To Hit South Central Illinois
Get ready for another wave of winter weather. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from four Friday afternoon to midnight for Marion, Clinton, Washington, Jefferson, Fayette, and Clay Counties. The weather service is predicting up to three inches of snow beginning Friday afternoon and continuing into the evening hours. Winds should not be a factor with this storm. The forecast is for a north wind at five miles per hour or less. The weather service says the biggest impact will be on untreated highways, sidewalks, and parking lots which will become slippery as the snow develops. They note it only takes a small amount of wintry precipitation to make roads, bridges, sidewalks and parking lots icy and dangerous.
