86th Annual Centralia Halloween Parade Winners Announced

The winners have been announced for the 86th Annual Centralia Halloween Parade.

The winner of the Grand Marshall Award was the Smith Family for their float “The Yellow Submarine”.  The winner of the Harley Queen Award was the Koelling Family with their float “Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Cardinal’s Rock”. 

In the Church Category, Orchardsville Church too first place, and United Methodist Children’s Home took second.  In the Civic Category, BandAide with “Celebrity Name that Tune” took first place.  The Fireside Nursing Home took second place.  In the Family/Neighborhood Category, Jessica Hanks and Family took first place with “Candy Land”.  The Dempsey Family took second place.

In the School Category, the Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop #260 once again took first place this year with "Never Give Up".  Kaskaskia College took second place.  In the Marching Units Category, Salem Community High School Dance Team took first place again this year, with the Beautiful Chaos Dance Team taking second place.

Iuka Grade School took first place in the grade school division, along with Outstanding Drum Line, Auxiliary, and Outstanding Drum Major.  Selmaville Grade School took second place, and Central City Marching Band took third pace.  Breese Jr. High took first place in the Jr. High Division.  Greenville Jr. High took second place along with Best Auxiliary and Outstanding Drum Line.  Franklin Park Middle School took third place.  

Sandoval Jr./Sr. High School once again swept the Jr./Sr. High Division with first place, along with Outstanding Drum Line, Auxiliary, and Drum Major. Bond County High School were big winners again this year, taking first place in the Senior High Division, along with Outstanding Drum Line, Auxiliary, and Drum Major. Breese Central High School took second place, and Carlyle High School took third place.
