25th Annual Herb and Garden Show Being Held This WeekendThis is the final day of the 25th Annual Herb and Garden Show at the Times Square Mall in Mt. Vernon.
Co-chair Lucy Baker says more than 50 vendors are taking part in this year's show that was originally started as a way to bring people to Mt. Vernon in the winter months. "Focus on herbs and gardens. Herbs can be used for medicine, for crafts, for gardening, soap, perfumes, all sorts of things. We have clothing with a garden theme, that is floral patterns. We have tools that can be used in the garden. He have a lot of antiques, because people like to put antiques in their gardens. Anything that can be used as a container," said Baker. She reports ceramics and pottery are both popular.
Baker says you'll also find books, seeds, information on cooking with herbs and even an Orchid booth.
The show continues from noon to five Sunday at the Times-Square Mall in Mt. Vernon.
