By WJBD News

A 12-year-old Centralia boy told Centralia Police he was riding his friend's bike when it crashed into a pickup truck Saturday afternoon.  Hunter Hastings of East Noleman did not realize the brakes were not working when he went down the hill from the McCord Street overpass and hit the pickup in the 300 block of North Walnut Street that was driven by 57-year-old James Boyce of Condit Place in Centralia.  Hastings was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of injuries.  Boyce was not injured.  Centralia City Firemen were also called to the scene.
