Woman Delivers Baby in Bookstore
(LOS ANGELES) -- A mother and her newborn baby are resting well in a Los Angeles area hospital after going through delivery Friday in a Barnes & Noble bookstore in the town of Torrance.
Capt. Steve Deuel, with the Torrance Fire Department, said first responders didn't have time to get the woman to a hospital before the baby arrived. Deuel said that "the baby made that decision for them."
Dave Delgado, who was in the bookstore at the time, said, "When we head the, the last scream, the big scream, everybody came running and then just as I got on the other side of the bookshelf by the door I saw a little baby."
