Marion County Road Oilings

The Marion County Highway Department will be oil and chipping the following roads on Wednesday:

Kinmundy Road from Tonti Road to U.S.50 

Tonti Road from Route 37 to Kinmundy Road

The roads will be closed at 7:30 Wednesday morning and will reopen by early Wednesday afternoon.  

Oil and chip work scheduled in Centralia for Thursday has been cancelled.  No new date has been set. 

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that patching operations followed by new asphalt pavement will begin Monday in the area of the north I-57/I-64 Interchange area north of Mt. Vernon.  Lane reductions will be utilized during the project.  To avoid these delays, motorists are encouraged to utilize the marked detour routes away from the interchange. Motorists should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers, and use extreme caution when traveling through this area.

Sandoval Township Road Oiling

Sandoval Township will be oiling Red Stripe, Barton, and Bethel Roads on Tuesday.  Work will begin at 8 Tuesday morning, with roads reopening by mid afternoon.

The City of Salem has expanded a boil order to include residents on West Allmon from College to Ohio, West Warmouth from College to Ohio, North Lincoln from Allman to Boone Street, and Spruce Street from Ohio to Illinois until further notice.  This is the result of a water line replacement project.    

The City of Centralia has issued a boil order for residents on West 2nd from Beech St to Brookside.  A boil order has been issued for Centralia residents on South Poplar from East 4th to East 5th Street.  Please contact the Public Works Department at 533-7640 with any questions or concerns.

The Village of Iuka has lifted a boil order for all houses south of Middleton Street in Iuka.
