Dick Van Dyke starred in the 1964 movie and attended Monday night’s premiere. He told ABC News Radio he loved doing the song and dance numbers in the movie, but the scene where he and others had to dance on the rooftops was hard work.
“That was killer. We were out there dancing and all those guys were half my age. It was so hard,” Van Dyke recalled.
Hanks recalled seeing Mary Poppins as a kid and remembered thinking the kids in the movie “talked funny."
"I couldn't figure out what they were saying,” Hanks added.
