Snooki, JWoww Not Welcome to Film in NJ Town
(NEW YORK) -- The MTV series Snooki & JWoww may have been renewed for a third season, but it's still not clear where the two Jersey Shore alums will film. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley are getting pushback from one New Jersey town that says they don't want the ladies filming there.
According to The Star Ledger, local residents of Berkeley Township attended a meeting earlier this week to discuss the reality show's filming, and they weren't happy.
The series plans to film the ladies living and vacationing in a house in the Pelican Island neighborhood with their families. The series also plans to film in the nearby town of Seaside Heights.
"This is a quiet, friendly island that’s being put on the map for the wrong reasons," one Pelican Island resident said, according to the paper. "It’s a disgrace."
Still, once Snooki got wind of the backlash, she fired back on Instagram.
"Grow up, get over yourself and move on. This is not how we should be treating one another. Absolutely sick and very sad. I pray for you. There’s much bigger things to worry about in life than trying to ban my family from your neighborhood," she wrote on the photo and video sharing network.
Berkeley Township is still deciding if the ladies can film there. A permit has been filed in Seaside Heights to film from mid-July to August.
