Nik Richie Says Wife Shayne Lamas' 'Heart Gave Out on Valentine's Day'
(LOS ANGELES) -- Shayne Lamas is still recovering from her pregnancy complication that resulted in a miscarriage and recently had a serious scare, her husband Nik Richie said earlier this week.
"I'm still working from the ICU. This has been the toughest week of my life, but my love for Shayne Lamas has grown tremendously," Richie wrote on his website TabRag. "My wife is a true fighter. Her heart gave out on Valentine's Day and we had to start the rehabilitation process all over again."
Shayne's father Lorenzo Lamas confirmed last week that his daughter was sent to the hospital on Feb. 9, lost her baby and has been there ever since. She was 16 weeks along in her pregnancy at the time of the incident.
Lamas is known for her work on General Hospital and as the winner of The Bachelor season 12.
Richie and Lamas welcomed daughter Press Dahl Lamas-Richie in November 2011. The couple confirmed in January that they were very excited about having a second child together.
Now, Richie said he is just concerned for his wife's life.
He continued on his update post, "Thank you to Dr. Marquez for saving Shayne's life (again). Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers -– they are working! Thank you to Dakota Pike, Lorenzo Lamas, Shawna Craig, Michele Smith, and my family for giving me the strength to get through this. Lastly, a special thank you to Shayne Lamas for not giving up. Press wants her mom back!"
