Miranda Kerr Reflects on 'Challenging' Time After Breakup
(LONDON) -- Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom are seemingly two of the friendliest exes in Hollywood. However, the model admitted that it's not always easy.
"Everyone goes through challenging periods in their life. That’s inevitable and it’s part of being human," she told Harper's Bazaar UK. "I feel like it’s a daily process of being positive. All these experiences make me into the person I am. The tough days make the positive days even more beautiful. The challenging days add more depth and strength of character."
Kerr, 31, and Bloom, 37, announced their three-year marriage was over in October.
Since then, they've been spotted together with their 3-year-old son, Flynn, smiling and laughing.
"I've said to her, ‘We’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives and we have a child, so it’s important to me that we respect each other as we always have and that Flynn feels that and understands that,'" Bloom said last month. "There’s a deep love between us."
But dealing with being newly-single is just one of the challenges that Kerr is facing. She's also learning to stand on her own, adding, "my son's bossy too!"
"I'm very much a people-pleaser at heart -- I feel that if everyone else is happy, then I’m happy," she said. "But I’m learning the power of saying no and putting my foot down."
