Lady Gaga Cancels Rest of Tour Dates, Diagnosed with Tear in Right Hip
(NEW YORK) -- Bad news for Lady Gaga fans: she's been forced to cancel the rest of the dates of her Born This Way Ball tour due to injury.
Earlier this week, Gaga announced that she had to postpone shows in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, Ontario, because she was suffering from "severe inflammation of the joints" that was so painful that it rendered her unable to walk.
On Wednesday night, the tour's promoter, Live Nation Global Touring, announced that after additional tests "to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict downtime to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour so she can heal."
Ticket holders can get a refund at the point of purchase beginning Thursday.
Gaga had 21 scheduled dates remaining on the North American leg of her Born This Way Ball tour, through March 20.
