Keanu Reeves Gives Update on "Bill & Ted 3"
(LOS ANGELES) -- Keanu Reeves began his Television Critics Association panel in Beverly Hills Tuesday by plugging his documentary about the impact of digital cinematography on filmmaking, Side By Side, which has been re-edited for a PBS special airing August 30. Pretty soon though, the subject shifted to the status of Bill & Ted 3.
Over a year ago, the Matrix star said the plot would find the time-traveling slackers attempting to write the world’s greatest song and traveling to the future to see what would happen if they didn’t finish it.
Back then, there were conflicting reports as to how far along the third installment had come, but on Tuesday Keanu, who plays Ted "Theodore" Logan in the movie, set the record straight.
“There’ve been a couple of drafts now,” he revealed, “and we’re waiting on the writers to come up with another draft.” Then he added sarcastically, “Which we’re all looking forward to.”
Reeves was also asked about the live stage production in Los Angeles and New York of his '90s surfer/heist movie, Point Break, and whether he'd ever star in a Broadway version. He said, "I would love to be on Broadway, but I don't know if I would pick Point Break. But I could see how that would be a lot of fun."
