Jim Belushi Not Happy with Casting of John Belushi Biopic
(LOS ANGELES) -- Jim Belushi has no beef with actor Emile Hirsch, but Belushi says it was a mistake for producers to cast the actor as his late brother John in an upcoming biopic.
"I think he's a terrific actor," Belushi told TMZ of Hirsch, but "they should have gotten my son, Robert Belushi."
The Life According to Jim star says his son, who is also an actor "would nail it," if he was asked to portray his late uncle.
Jim Belushi says his son even resembles John at that time, and is 33, "the same age as John when he passed."
When asked who should portray John Belushi's Blues Brothers partner at the time, a young Dan Aykroyd, Belushi laughed, saying "someone really skinny."
John Belushi was found dead on March 5, 1982 from an accidental drug overdose.
Hirsch will be seen next on the big screen early next year in the based-on-real life military drama Lone Survivor opposite Mark Wahlberg.
