Jennifer Lawrence Almost Shot Intruders with Bow and Arrow
(NEW YORK) -- Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence says she owns her own bow and arrow and once actually armed herself with it in self-defense.
In an interview published in the February issue of Vanity Fair, Lawrence says she returned home one day after taking archery training and heard men in her house. Lawrence, whose Hunger Games character Katniss Everdeen was adept at archery, tells the magazine, "I pulled into my garage and I heard men in my house. And I was like, 'I'm not letting them take my stuff.' I had just gotten back from training, so I had the bow and arrows in the back of my car...I put this quiver on me and I had my bow and I loaded it..."
The actress says the men turned out to be workers that she had hired. False alarm.
Lawrence also reveals in the Vanity Fair interview that she describes herself as “vastly uneducated,” and says, “Not to sound too rude but [acting] is stupid.” She explains, “Everybody is like, ‘How can you keep a level head?’ And I’m like, ‘Why would I ever get cocky? I’m not saving anybody’s life. There are doctors who save lives and firemen who run into burning buildings. I’m making movies. It’s stupid.’’’
Still, the 22-year-old Lawrence, is suitably impressed with her acting idols. She recalls for the magazine being introduced to Bill Maher when Meryl Streep suddenly walked in the room. “I literally put my hand right in Bill Maher’s face and said ‘Not now, Bill', and I just stared at Meryl Streep.” Lawrence says she never actually got to meet the multiple Oscar winner, explaining, “I just creepily stared at her.”
Lawrence currently co-stars with Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro in Silver Linings Playbook.
