Grumpy Cat Will Star in Lifetime Christmas Movie
(LOS ANGELES) -- Here's some news for fans of the Grumpy Cat. The viral star will headline a holiday movie for Lifetime later this year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lifetime is attached to Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever. It will revolve around a feline in a pet store that's constantly overlooked, as well as a 12-year-old girl who can communicate with it.
The project, which will be shot this summer and will feature appearances by other Internet stars, is being described as a mix of Home Alone and Die Hard.
Lifetime exec Arturo Interian tells The Hollywood Reporter the movie will bring "fun and irreverence that we haven't had at Lifetime."
Grumpy Cat is familiar with cameras. Earlier this year, it appeared on the MTV Movie Awards and American Idol.
