Gia Allemand Tried to Kill Herself After Boyfriend Said: 'I Don't Love You'

Rodney Itier/WireImage(NEW ORLEANS) -- A little more than a week after Gia Allemand's attempted suicide, details are coming out about the circumstances of the former Bachelor contestant's death.

Allemand, 29, had been arguing the afternoon of Aug. 12 with her NBA player boyfriend Ryan Anderson "over her suspicions that he having been unfaithful to her," hours before she tried to take her own life, according to a New Orleans Police Department report obtained by ABC News.

The report states she hung herself with a vacuum cleaner cord tied to the handrail of a spiral staircase in her home after fighting with Anderson that day during lunch.

Anderson dropped Allemand off at her apartment at around 6 p.m. after running errands and told her, "I don't love you anymore," according to the report. This was in response to her saying she still loved him.

The basketball player went home, only to get a text from Allemand's mother, Donna Micheletti, around 7:28 p.m., saying, "There was something wrong with Gia" and he should go check on her. The text added that the mother had been on the phone with her daughter when the line went silent.

Anderson went to Allemand's home around 7:48 p.m. and found her with the cord "wrapped around her neck many times," the report continues. He tried to quickly unwrap the cord but she was "not responsive." He began yelling for help.

Julieann Snow, a neighbor, told police she heard screams coming from the "adjoining apartment," and found "Mr. Anderson holding Ms. Allemand on the floor." She then called 911.

Responding police officers arrived and saw EMT personnel trying to resuscitate Allemand, "by performing CPR, in the entry hallway of the apartment." They also found a notebook with a note written by Allemand saying, "Mom gets everything."

Allemand was then taken to University Hospital in New Orleans and put on life support. She died two days later on Aug. 14 after being taken off support.

The resident doctor told police that Allemand had been without oxygen for "30 to 40 minutes" during the suicide attempt.
