Billboard Music Awards to Rock Las Vegas
(LAS VEGAS) -- Lorde and Imagine Dragons-- two artists who've had an incredible 12 months on the Billboard charts-- lead all nominees for the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, which air live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Sunday on ABC.
Each act has received nominations in 12 categories, including the big one: Top Artist. Both acts are also performing on the show.
Joining Lorde and Imagine Dragons on the bill at the show are Robin Thicke, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, John Legend, Jason Derulo, Ricky Martin, Pitbull, OneRepublic, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Florida Georgia Line, country superstars Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Luke Bryan, and, via satellite, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus.
While Jason Derulo has appeared at the BBMAs before, this year marks the first time he'll be performing, and he says being onstage in front of an audience of music's biggest stars can be a bit unnerving.
"That's like when you're in class and you had to do a paper-- it was much harder to do it because you know all your friends were in the class," Jason laughs to ABC News Radio. "And it just puts a little more pressure on the line!" But he says he's ready to bring it, because televised award shows always seem to bring out the musical equivalent of The Hulk in him.
"In the back of my head is always those butterflies and me telling myself, 'Oh my God, there's millions and millions of people watching this,' but y'know, it just gives you that extra little something. And I just kinda morph into somebody else when I'm on stage," he explains to ABC News Radio. "So, you know, you get a Derulo that's, like, times ten! So, you'll definitely get a good show."
The show will be hosted by rapper and actor Ludacris, aka Chris Bridges, and presenters include John Legend's wife, model Chrissy Teigen, as well as fun.'s Jack Antonoff, Phillip Phillips, Shania Twain, Lucy Hale, Omar Epps, Dancing with the Stars contestant and actress Danica McKeller, Josh Groban, Sarah Hyland, and The Bachelorette's Andy Dorfman.
The red carpet will stream online starting at 6 p.m. ET, and will be hosted by Lance Bass and Jordin Sparks.
