(NEW YORK) -- Ben Affleck won the top award at the 65th Annual Directors Guild Awards in Los Angeles Saturday night, People Magazine reports.
Affleck accepted the award for outstanding directorial achievement for Argo after being snubbed by the Academy Awards earlier this month despite the film's rave reviews, the magazine reports.
The director was accompanied by wife Jennifer Garner throughout the evening, who he thanked "for being the best person in the world," according to People Magazine.
