Alicia Keys Confirmed to Sing National Anthem, Make History at the Super Bowl(NEW YORK) -- Following a report that Alicia Keys would be singing the national anthem at this year's Super Bowl, the NFL has now confirmed that Alicia will, indeed, do the honors Feb. 3 in New Orleans.
While she's never actually sung the anthem, this will be Alicia's third time appearing at the Super Bowl -- and that's more than any other artist, according to the NFL. She previously sang "America the Beautiful" at Super Bowl 39 in 2005, and then returned in 2008 to perform as part of the pregame show for Super Bowl 42.
As previously reported, Beyonce will provide the halftime entertainment for the big game, which will air on CBS.
