"Partridge Family" Star Debuts Racy New Memoir
(NEW YORK) -- Shirley Jones is shedding her wholesome Partridge Family image in a shocking new memoir that details her troubled marriage to the late actor Jack Cassidy, complete with tales of repeated infidelity and sexual threesomes.
According to E! News, Shirley Jones: A Memoir details the 79-year-old actress' life, moving from a small Pennsylvania town in the 1950s to ending up in Rodgers and Hammerstein's film Oklahoma!
Jones also reportedly reveals in the book that she is "highly sexed" thanks to Cassidy, whom she describes as a "sexual Svengali." She also admits the two engaged in threesomes and Cassidy even cheated on her, including a same-sex relationship with songwriter Cole Porter.
"Jack did it with men and women," the actress said on Thursday's Good Morning America. "He told me about all this, by the way. I was very aware of all this, you know...but he loved women."
Jones and Cassidy divorced in 1975. He died in a house fire one year later. The couple had three children, including actor Patrick Cassidy and former actor-turned-producer Shaun Cassidy. Jack Cassidy is also the father of former Partridge Family star David Cassidy.
Shirley Jones: A Memoir is available on bookshelves now.
