"Despicable Me 2," "The Lone Ranger," "Let Me Explain" Open
(NEW YORK) -- Three new films open nationwide on Wednesday, just in time for the Fourth of July holiday. Here's a closer look:
-- Despicable Me 2: Steve Carell returns as the voice of villain-turned-doting father Gru. Gru is enlisted by a crime-fighting group to serve as a spy and hunt down a thief. Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, Russell Brand and Miranda Cosgrove also lend their voices to the animated film, which is screening in 3D. Rated PG. [Click here to read a review]
-- The Lone Ranger: Armie Hammer portrays the legendary character, with Johnny Depp by his side as Native American warrior Tonto. Together, they fight injustice. Jerry Bruckheimer produced the film, which was directed by frequent Depp collaborator Gore Verbinski. The cast includes Helena Bonham Carter, William Fichtner and Tom Wilkinson. Rated PG-13.
-- Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain: The stand-up concert film documents Kevin Hart's 2012 tour. Rated R.
