Money Finally Being Released Under Illinois Jobs Now! Bonding Program
7/12/10 @ 9:53:54 am

Some money is finally beginning to flow through Illinois Jobs Now!  Centralia Mayor Becky Ault says the council will be asked to approve grant agreements at Monday night's meeting on two projects that have now been released from the state's large capital bonding program.  They are the 250-thousand dollar Seventh Street Sewer Project and the 150-thousand dollar McCord Street Waterline Replacement Project.

Ault is hopeful of getting some of the four-million set aside for reconstruction of Airport and Calumet Street and the addition of sidewalks near the new Centralia High School to be released shortly.  "We've asked the governor to give us the engineering money because the engineering is going to take at least six months.  We're hoping to hear about that one too since they have started releasing the capital money," Ault said.

Ault was surprised when receiving notification.  She thought the long awaited release of funds may not happen until after the November election.
