(Belleville, IL) -- In an attempt to combat the drug trade in Belleville, the city's police department is putting up signs that point to houses and apartments where drugs have been sold.
In one such case, a sign has been erected outside of an apartment structure on West H Street; the sign, in red letters says, "Warning! Drug House; Enter at your own risk." And an arrow on the sign points to the building where police made an arrest for drug sales on January 7th. Police began putting the signs up Tuesday but won't necessarily employ them for every home drug bust. The department also plans to tell neighbors, property owners and companies that manage rental facilities about the drug activity.
